Arco is located at the north side of Garda lake, in the Trentino region. And "natural clinic", is the nickname it deserved in the past for his healthy climate and clean air. Surrounded by green, parks and gardens, splendid Art Nouveau villas, elegant Renaissance buildings and a rich gastronomy.
The Church "La Collegiata" of Santa Maria Assunta, of Renaissance age was rebuilt in 1613, and is one of the most exemplary religious monuments of the Renaissance presents in Trentino region. Adjacent is the fountain of Moses in baroque style with the signs of Arco town. The building that was once residence of Conti d'Arco, ancient lords of the town, complete the square. Walking in the center you can meet characteristics narrow streets and important monuments, such as the home of arciduca Alberto of Austria, built in 1873, in via Fossagrande, the park "arboretum", the ancient district of Stranfora, and then going through a secular olive field up to the Arco's Castle, built around the XII century, was the residence of Conti d'Arco, almost undisputed lords of the village until the end of '500, when they moved into the new and sumptuous palace in the center. Built in a dominant position to monitor the area, from the Sarca valley the old doors, was protected by a large moat. Abandoned to its fate, the castle went to ruin, but what remains today still offers a magical atmosphere. Town Hall, the building was built as a residence by the family of Arco, who in the fourteenth century abandoned the castle and moved into the old town, where they built several palaces: Palazzo Nuovo, Palazzo di San Pietro, Palace del Termine and Palazzo Panni. The Sant'Apollinare church deserve a visit too. The road continues for Prabi (where camping is located) and is at the base of the mountain, along a path among the oaks, you climb to the church of San Paolo (XII sec.) With a hermitage, built under the roof of the rock. In the opposite direction to the historical center, stretches the beautiful veranda (1900) in iron and glass of the Kursaal, the current Municipal Casino, now the seat of congressual meeting and events, along you can find the Kurpromenade (Viale delle Magnolie and Palm). On viale Roma, toward the bus station, is the Evangelical Church of the Trinity, it was built in 1897 in neo-Gothic style with valuable roof and polychrome majolica. The Nature Museum, a park of trees from various countries around the world, who thrive thanks to the special microclimate.

Garda lake is certainly one of the largest lakes in Italy and one of the most charming, laying between green hills and mountains, all around you discover beaches and bays surrounded by scents and colours. The climate is mild and temperate, ideal for the luxurious vegetation, which at times reminds one of the Mediterranean coast. The Garda is a place you can't miss, not only a flagship for the Italian tourism, but a meeting place for lovers of tourism, sports, sailing and for lovers of life. It has always been a place of inspiration for great writers and travelers who have stayed here, from Goethe to Byron, Foscolo, Carducci, Rilke, Gide, Lawrence, Ibsen and others. The variety of landscapes and changing morphology, from mountain to the north to the hills of the south side. Where the lake lays into the Trentino region, from Limone to Riva del Garda, the wind blows constantly, sometimes docile and generous other stronger and more impetuous. This is the land of surfers and sailors, a destination for major national and international regattas. Driving along the road route around the lake there are numerous tourist destinations, with the harbors, small colorful houses and beautiful villas.
